Decorating for the holidays is a tradition for many homes. The standard decorations typically involve lights on the exterior of the house and maybe a tree or two inside. With kitchens being our primary focus, we thought it may be fun to think about the different ways you can add a little holiday cheer throughout your cabinets this year. If you plan on hosting a dinner or two, your kitchen is going to play a pivotal role. Having some fun, festive decorations throughout will certainly add to the occasion. With a little help from our elves, your halls will be decked in no time!
Decorating for the Holidays: Ideas from our Elves
If there are kids in your kitchen, a good place to start is with a classic gingerbread house. These are a great craft project during the holiday season. When they are done, the kids can leave their creations on full display. That is, if they can fight the urge to eat them! If you have a table and chairs in your kitchen, spruce it up this season. A nice garland center piece with a simple strand of lights will go a long way. Tying bows or hanging small wreaths off the backs of chairs can also look lovely. Perhaps you have some holiday dishware that deserves to be shown off. Get creative with it this year. A hot cocoa bar, for example, is an awesome way to show off festive mugs and jars. This will look great on a bar cart or any unused counter space in the kitchen.
A Winter Wonderland, in the Kitchen!
If you really want to go all out, you could even hang lights throughout the kitchen. String them from cabinet to cabinet and light up your space with a festive glow. If you have an island cabinet with plenty of counter space, maybe consider a small tree. With or without ornaments, a tree in the kitchen is sure to stand out! Wrapping up some faux gifts and scattering them about looks great too. Holiday candles can leave your kitchen smelling like a winter wonderland. If you have a window to work with, consider hanging up a small wreath. Don’t forget about that elf on the shelf! Decorating for the holidays does not have to be difficult and it is the little things that will make your kitchen shine, this season.
